As a kid, he was busy with trumpet and Kung Fu lessons,

He jumped into advertising as copywriter then into movies as in-house screenwriter. He took jobs as 1st Assistant Director and worked for a range of worldwide film directors.

​

In a helicopter, through the rainforest of Sumatera and Kalimantan he was in constant battle with production problems.

 

He then wrote and directed a feature film, Kita Punya Bendera (A Flag of Our Own, 2008) a film about the so-called "Chinese problem" epitomizes all the  complexities of Indonesian nationalism  (The Jakarta Post).  

 

His latest short film, Riuh (Noise) is about an ordinary girl gone mad, expressing the anger of Jakartans. 

 

He works on commercials and directed spots for TikTok, Honda, Ajinomoto, Google, Nestlé, Unilever and more.
